Why do so many Lebanese women try to be white??

Most Lebanese women have dark skin and hair, sure some are white but still with really dark hair. What's all this obsession with Lebanese women dying their hair a million different colors and looking ridiculous. You can always see the roots on their hair. Natural blondes in Lebanon are like 2-4%. 90% have black hair. Defintely not lower than that. Any Lebanese who puts a different percentage is either lying or exagerrating. Just think about all those eye contacts and hair bleaching and skin powder all those Lebanese celebrities go through. WhyyYyyy?? Dark is beautiful and sexy.

Example: Haifa Wehbe is tanned with black hair. She always puts colored contacts on, and puts white powder on her face. WHYyyYy? Isn't tanned skin more appealing? I seriously dont understand this. Most European women, and even Southern European women, go to tanning salons and to get their skin darker but Lebanese women insist on making it lighter. Isnt this ridiculous, isnt tanned skin is much more appealing?

With the American and European culture in other countries brain washing people. Though tv and computers. Arab women should be proud of their skin and hair color. I dont really think its looks that cute and makes them look fake with all the bleaching,coloring,changing and all.

As Webby said......we women like to change our look. You just said it.....european want to be tanned....and some tanned want to be clearer....is that bad? Only european women have the right to do what they want? Isnt ridiculous for you to try to be tanned going to tanning salons? Why has to be ridiculous only in 1 side? May be "dark is sexy" for you......but not all the pple thinks as you do it.

Yes u are right that that most women in southern eastern region of europe, north african and ME have dark hair.

About skin color, some are pale or tanned.

I dont believe that they actually dislike being tanned thats ridiculous.As for hair color, many blondes change it to dark hair so i dont get whats the problem with changing hair color.

My take on this is that it all boils down to money.

Malaysian women are bombarded with adverts from the TV, Radio, Newspapers Etc telling them how 'important' it is in their lives to have 'fair and Lovely' skin.

So after being brainwashed by all forms of media the local way of thinking now is that if you got dark skin you are poor and work outside (Under the hot Sun) in construction or sweeping the road Etc

On the other hand if you have white skin it 'means' you work in an air Conditioned office or you don't have to work at all because you're rich Etc

And as already mentioned in other answers it's also is the same in the West only in reverse. The media in the West brainwash women telling them they must have dark skin to look like you've been away on exotic holidays or your rich enough to lay about under the Sun all day Etc

In the meanwhile the cosmetic and other related industries are raking in billions of dollars from it all ...how sad..
