Glam ponytail?

Where can I find instructions on how to do a ponytail like I've seen Gwen Stefani wear? The front of it has a lot of volume and is high. Anyone know what I'm talking about and where I can learn to do it? A lot of the celebrities are wearing their hair like this.

Did this help?! She has SO many hairstyles. Good luck. I love Gwen's hair too.

Just search it in google, she teases her hair up in the front. You use a comb, backcomb it, and hair spray it.

what you do is you take the front part of your hair, (bang) and take a brush. hold it up and brush the back of it down towards your scalp to sort of make a "bump". then you smooth the top of the hair back and pin the end of your hair down with bobby pins. Then you spray it with hair spray and pat and smooth it over. put the rest of your hair in a tall ponytail and you re good to go. It's actually called a Pompadour. :]

I can tell you how. It works best with hair that has long layers as opposed to short layers...especially helpful if the bangs are a titch long.

You need:

A bristle brush

Light Hair Spray

Spray shine

A "teasing comb"

A hair tie

Bobby pins.

Just section off the mohawk area and pin the rest back while you lightly (or heavily...depending on how high you want the top) the mowhawk area. Then take your bristle brush and lighty smooth the top over and spray. Now, pinch the mowhawk section together and pin with two criss crossed bobby pins..if you have lots of hair you may need to then "lock" the pins with a third pin.

Next slick the sides back with your bristle brush and put in a pony tail at about the center back of your head (include the extra hair from the mowhawk in your ponytail.

If you have extra hair you can wrap it around the hair tie and pin it to disguise the tie, otherwise they make hair ties in every color now., so you should be able to find one that matches your hair.. You also can get a strand of hair at your local beauty supply matching your own and either braid it and wrap it around the pony tail or just wrap and pin.

When I am completely done I give another light spray at the sides and smooth with the palm of my hands. Then a light spray to the "high hair" and gently push it up.

LOVE this look.
